Every book I am reading in 2018
One of my favourite ways to learn and to pass the time is reading (see my favourite business books). Last year I read probably a dozen books, but it was very scattered and all over the place. This year I am putting a little more thought and strategy into my reading list. Plus, I am tackling some books that have been on my #toread list for years.
I tried to choose books that would flow with the seasons and reminders of what my mind needs during those seasons.
So if you want to read along with me, these are the books I am reading in 2018!

What books are you reading this year?
So I am a few days late to the ‘in review’ posts, but often find myself remerging into the world on January 2nd or 3rd and it’s like the fog of the busy holiday season has cleared and I can finally see the year ahead.
Here’s the thing, for me, using Pinterest strategically is not about growing my following on Pinterest or increasing the monthly views on my profile. My main goal of Pinterest and Tailwind is to drive traffic back to my website.
Call me old fashion, social media grandma or just holding onto the past, but I still love posting to the Instagram feed! I understand that people are spending more and more time in Instagram stories instead of scrolling the feed. But there is something I find so satisfying in curating and writing content for my feed.
You put your unique content out there and then you hear crickets. I’ve seen and heard this sentiment from big names in the creative industry and the new faces alike. It is extremely disheartening and discouraging to put your heart and soul into content and feel like it is falling on deaf ears.
One of the best days in my business was investing in Dubsado, a CRM which tracks, automates and handles #allthethings. Immediately after clicking ‘purchase’ I felt the overwhelm.
It actually took me a while to pull the trigger on The Contract Shop's template, because it isn't cheap (especially when you factor in the USA/CAD exchange rate). But it was all worth it this spring when everyone was freaking out about GDPR!
I always looked at a quiz opt-in as something that was complicated, was going to take up too much time and just plain overwhelming. But seriously, setting up a quiz for my website was so much easier than I expected and I’m really excited to see people start to use it!
Your brand messaging is who you are, what you offer, why it adds value to your clients. The messaging uses words and phrases that connect with your ideal client, so they understand that you are speaking directly to them.
When people believe in the why behind your brand, they identify with your purpose and they desire to be apart of it.
I’m really glad you have started your email list and you have an opt-in, seriously you’re doing great! Now, the next thing you need to do is nurture your subscribers and introducing them to your brand.
